Buyer Profile
Wind Point Partners is a Chicago-based middle-market firm with a demonstrated and highly relevant focus on waterworks infrastructure. In a landmark transaction, Wind Point partnered with Sigma Companies International Corp., a manufacturer and supplier of essential waterworks infrastructure products founded in 1985. Sigma specializes in fittings, pipe restraints, municipal construction castings, polymer enclosures, and accessories for water, wastewater, and critical infrastructure sectors.
Under CEO Victor Pais, President Larry Rybacki, and Vice Chairman Siddharth Bhattacharji, Sigma operates a comprehensive North American network of 14 strategically positioned facilities serving over 1,800 customer locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. The management team retained meaningful equity alongside Wind Point, aiming to further grow through both organic means and strategic mergers and acquisitions.
Wind Point's waterworks thesis is further demonstrated by the firm's assessment that "the waterworks infrastructure sector in North America is experiencing notable growth, driven by increasing demand for reliable water supply and wastewater management solutions" amid aging infrastructure. This explicit market thesis aligns perfectly with AquaScience's water treatment positioning.
Additionally, Wind Point acquired Enviromatic Systems in December 2025, a high-growth provider of essential facility services for building management systems founded in 1973. Enviromatic designs, engineers, programs, and integrates mission-critical building management systems with over 275 employees operating in Texas, Florida, and Tennessee. This acquisition demonstrates Wind Point's pattern of investing in essential-services businesses with strong recurring revenue.
The fit between Wind Point and AquaScience is exceptionally strong. Wind Point already owns a waterworks infrastructure platform (Sigma) that serves water and wastewater end markets. Acquiring AquaScience could be positioned as an add-on to the Sigma platform, extending into water treatment services to complement Sigma's products and infrastructure focus. Alternatively, AquaScience could serve as a standalone platform within Wind Point's portfolio, benefiting from the firm's waterworks sector expertise and operational resources.
